For all ages in need of friendship and support for the elderly, lonely or disabled. Offering social activities and friendship for people who are older and/or disabled in the community. Meet weekly for activities (craftwork, card and board games, entertainment, and outings) and companionship.

Our Centres are open one morning a week from 10.00 am - 12.30 pm, except during the primary school holidays. Morning tea and lunch are served. Activities are arranged each week and outings are organized once a term at a nominal cost. Transport to and from the Centre can also be arranged at a minimal charge.

    Albany

  • Northcote Birkenhead Rugby Club, Recreation Drive, Birkenhead

    WEDNESDAYS

  • Red Beach
  • Methodist Church Hall, 76 Red Beach Rd, Red Beach

    THURSDAYS

  • The Rose Centre, School Road, Belmont

  • Glenfield
  • War Memorial Hall, Hall Road, Glenfield
  • Stanmore Bay
  • Stanmore Bay Community hall, opposite Stanmore Bay School, Waiora Rd

Prior to attending any Centre for the first time please contact our office 09 489 8954

The following lists our main criteria for entry to one of our Centres

  • Are you 65 years or older (or 55 or older if Pacific Island or Maori nationality)
  • Are you living:
    - in your own home; or
    - with family but on your own during the day; or
    - in retirement complex; or
    - in Pensioner housing
  • Able to move around with minimal assistance and do not require lifting in/out of chairs to transport
  • Able to interact socially with others
  • Able to participate in our programmes
  • Independent with toileting and feeding
