YES offers a range of workshops and activities which help provide holistic support, with focus on professional and leadership development and training for our youth with disabilities.

Self Defence Course for Young Women with disabilities

A one day course focused on empowering young women with disabilities to feel prepared and safe.

The course is broken into 6 key themes, with many opportunities for role playing, interaction, and group chats. 

  1. Use your voices and bodies to establish safe boundaries
  2. Trust your instincts to avoid negative situations
  3. Discourage potential threats
  4. Defend yourself in moments of danger
  5. Get away from the threat quickly – getting to safety as the priority
  6. Report unsafe interaction to trustworthy adults
 

Held at Shore Junction on 29th March 2022, with a group dinner after!
